Although Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks, and George Washington Carver are great historical figures, Black History Month is about more than them.  Use the list on the right to check out my favorite poet, Countee Cullen, baseball pitcher Satchel Paige, or Sarah E. Goode, the first African-American woman to receive a U.S. patent.  There is a whole world to discover, so do not limit yourself--be unique and groundbreaking, just like the African-Americans you are studying!
